Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I currently have a coleman cookstove that has one eye and the other half is a grill. I don't like it. I want a well made regular 2 burner. Looked at current Coleman stoves and they look so poorly made I don't think they will last long. The Primus feels solid but reviews Ive read say it often doesn't function well ...wont light, either super hot or off, etc. Camp chef looks good but is bigger than id like to have unless there is a model I haven't seen. The storage place I want to keep it requires a stove no larger than 4 1/2" tall and no longer than 22"...essentially the standard 2 burner coleman size. Ideally Id find a reliable stove to fit within this size but Id sacrifice size for one that does a good job. Recommendations?

If you don't mind spending a fortune, I'd look at Partner stoves. Started out making them for river runners and very good quality. They also make different sizes and configurations.

I replaced our coleman grill stove like yours with a camp chef ranger II stove. Don't remember the size but it fits in the same space as my old grill stove. Love it!

I would buy an older, made in the USA, Coleman off Ebay or Craigslist.

Bought it last year, used it for 2 camping seasons now.

There are dozens of hardly used Coleman stoves for sale in most locations. Garage sales, Craigslist.

I have a new Triton and it works better than my old Coleman, but opinions always vary.

I had a 30 y.o. Coleman that I grew up with. That stove was durable, easy to clean, and worked great. I sold it with my old camper and have been kicking myself ever since.

I now have the same burner/grill combo as you and I agree that it is a piece of junk.

I'm going to replace it someday with an RV cooktop, Atwood or similar.

I'm still using my old Coleman propane, along with a large Camp Chef 3 burner for groups. When I finally replace the Coleman I'll most likely spring for the Partner though and it should be the last stove I ever need to buy. The Camp Chef is awesome by the way, just way to big and heavy to set up inside the trailer. Strictly for group cooking as I think each burner is 30,000 BTUs and I have the griddle that covers 2 of them. I can cook about 6 lbs of bacon at once and still have a 20 cup coffee pot going on the 3rd burner.

I was at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago and found an old Coleman propane stove for $5. It looked pretty good, so I took a chance on it because the owner didn't know if it worked or not. I brought it home, attached a bottle of propane, checked it for leaks, and tried it. It fired right up! Before that, we had just been using a table top propane grill that worked pretty good, even as a stove. Now I will be able to grill and cook at the same time, rather than one or the other.

I've posted this question to another (older) thread with no answers yet, so figured this might be a better place to ask. What's the feedback on this stove-oven combo from people who have one and have used it for a year or two?

Camp Chef Camping Outdoor Oven with 2 Burner Camping Stove

Durability, regulation of burners at low heat settings, oven temp regulation? General build quality? It looks good on paper & in pictures, but I'm wondering if it's up to the task over time. I know the fitting on the back will need to be changed over to accommodate a standard flex hose from the tongue bottle & piping run, OK. Anything else I need to know about this critter? Want to set it up with full extension drawer guides so the oven isn't too close to wood & the galley interior. Is this worth looking at?
