Found the site when researching to do a conversion . Dad had a 5x10 shorty sitting for the last three years and told me to come get it ,so 800 miles round trip a set of tires and repacked bearings I have it home . It needs paint ,it is skinned with steel and is a 20 year old trailer .The bed will be able to be removable so I can still use it as a trailer . I would like to put a 16 gallon water tank and pump in but not sure how use it would get .It will mostly be used to haul kayaks and mountain bikes while camping .

Welcome as well!

There are tons of builds here that should answer the water pump questions, although when I search, I get so many responses it's hard to sift through sometimes.

As far as kayaks and bikes go...you're speaking my language, here's mine: (removable beds as well)

Another kayak/bike purpose build discussion:

For Alabama? summer, add a window A/C unit:

Here's another toy-hauler related build I kept up with (kayaks):

This is Gonefishin's build, more for camping/fishing, but a real favorite:

And if you really want to go off the deep end, and take your kayaks: Gadgetman!

This ought to get you into enough trouble for starters, welcome to the club...

I'm going with an automatic pressure sensitive pump.
They are relatively cheap and as soon as you open your tank they turn on
