Insurance for converted CTs in CANADA..

Hi all!
This past weekend I stopped by a RV supply place to talk solar and propane systems.
The owner detailed the process for installing propane in a trailer - get a permit, do the work, have the work inspected, etc., etc. Reason, among other things, was for insurance coverage. Duh, that wasn't even on my radar! Does that mean that I have to get a permit for electrical, plumbing, etc.??
Our plan is to convert our trailer into more of a travel trailer, rather than a toy carrier/camper like a lot of you are doing.
So may I ask our Canuck followers, what did you do re insurance for your converted CT?
Thanks for any and all assistance!!
