Cameras....does this sound crazy?

I have a 7x12 on order. I am thinking about mounting a camera inside the trailer so I can keep an eye on the bike as I'm towing. The monitor I ordered has 2 video inputs so I can add a reverse camera on the back of the trailer as well. Cameras will be wired rather than wireless. If I plan right I am thinking I can possibly use the monitor inside the trailer while camping to lessen the clausterphobic feeling a bit, if I have another temp mount camera.

If y'all have any experience with this stuff or can offer critisism/thoughts on my ideas, I'd like to hear them.

I like the idea of a camera on the back of the trailer. One does not always have someone back there to guide him. For the inside, I am not sure.
And for the outside, I like that idea also. Some members here have done that.

I have thought about the same thing, I generally carry 2 Harley's in my trailer. If one of them starts moving around I would like to know before it did some damage.

I'm mounting cameras to the a few sides of my trailer. I went against the norm of adding windows to my CTC, so cameras will provide a view outside when parked and aid in backing when hooked. I wouldn't put a camera inside the trailer though, it just seems like a distraction. You'd also have to keep a light on in the trailer if you traveled at night.

It's really about what you want though, how much space will you have around the bike? I use two straps on the handle bars of my dirt bike, with the front tire in a HF locking wheel chock. I used to use CanyonDancers on my street bike, but they don't work well on my dirt bike. So long as you compress the shocks 2-4" (depending on the bike), you shouldn't have to worry about it once it's strapped in.

I mounted one on the back of the trailer. Costco wireless special. It's actually handy.

I have a few home security cameras sitting around doing nothing. Most of the cameras out there are powered by a plug in converter that sends 12 volts DC to the camera. The one I have selected to mount in the trailer is night vision capable and works quite well. It will require me to make up some custom video cable but playing with the idea at home indicates that it should work good.

The trailer should be ready to be picked up at my dealer in a couple of weeks.

I still am finishing the "must haves" on my build. When everything is tested I'll post my solution for an AC/DC wifi camera that is both displayed and controlled from your smartphone. I'll use it for cargo monitoring while on the road and pit monitoring while at the track. The camera I'm considering has both night vision and motion sensing. The software has the ability to send email alerts when the motion sensing is tripped.

I got my monitor/screen today. Its a 7 inch screen and I found it on Amazon for about $39 with shipping. It came with a bezel for surface mounting or a bracket.

Here is the camera I will be using.........

Doesnt give any kind of an award winning picture but it looks like it will work good enough to tell me if the bike starts leaning over while towing.

I would like to look at your camera install but I am not sure I understand where to look for "Post 20".
Can you post the link? Thanks.
