Difference between 8 and 8.5 width?

I am planning to order a CT and need to know if there are any important differences between 8 and 8.5 foot wide trailers (I know, I know, 6 inches!) Do the wheel wells intrude more on the 8', or is the overall width the same to the outside of the wheels?

I have a full size truck and have towed a 32' fifth wheel, so visibility is not an issue.

The widest point should be measured at the fenders. So the 8.5 wide should have the exterior walls inline with the fender edges pretty much. The 8 foot wide will have the fenders protruding a little on each side most likely with the fender width the same as on the 8.5. But there is no hard and fast rule on that. Available axle widths, wheels and the manufacturing technique can vary.
