I'm in the thought process of the same thing but including a fridge in the mix.
So far I'm thinking of mounting my battery (s) in the bottom of a box and having a 40 liter fridge on draw slides above it.
When the fridge is slid out you can access the battery from the opersite side and as far as the gas bottles concerned I'm not sure if it will be in the box or external.
That's as far as I've got realy

I have seen many posts here showing how others have mounted their propane tanks, for both TD's and CT's.
Here is one link in Google where if you chose one or another of the choices, there are posts showing several methods.
Hope this helps a little.

I've had batteries stolen before, and since I am running a $300 Optima Blue Top dry battery, I had little interest in leaving it exposed. So, while it was $200, I used a very low weight aluminum tongue box. I built a battery box out of wood and mounted it inside the box with straps that hold the battery secure. The tank barely fits inside the box, and because of the lid support, I have to have the propane tank sitting at the right angle so the support misses the metal surrounding the valve. I used wood to make a pocket for the bottom of the propane tank, and since there is only 1/4" clearance on the lid, it can't move around at all.

Out of sight, out of mind...

Thanks for the ideas. Really nice set ups here. I think I'll just weld up some angle iron and go this route if it fits. I found this image on Google so it's not mine.

Professorkx, how did you mount the box? Did you use u bolts and bolted it down?

nope. Self taping 1/4 inch screws with fender washers, three on each side screwed into the tongue rails right through the bottom of the box. Added clear silicon to help guard against rust where the screw goes into steel.

Sounds like the way to go! I decided to go with a tongue box and a small propane tank that will fit inside with the battery. Thanks

I am late to the party, but this is how we set ours up. On page 8 of our build: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=55219&start=105

We based it off of Glenlivet's mount that he showed in his post here: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=46134&start=0

I was going to set my tongue up like Cindy shows, but with the spare mounted either higher or the tanks (I will plan on two) on each side. But now I plan on moving my spare more to the back of the CT because of the tongue weight. In the front of the CT itself will be a compact refrigerator and I wanted to avoid too much weight being on the tongue.

Nice set ups here. I decided to go with an aluminum box. It should be delivered in a week. This is what I found . I hope it looks good on the tongue. It's 49" x 15" x 15". I will put my propane tank and battery in it. My idea was also extra storage being I'm only in a 6x12.
