Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum as a member, although I have been lurking for quite a while. My wife and I are ready to semi retire, and would like to build a TT conversion.

My main question is, we would most likely be camping in areas of cold for at least several nights (during the winter months) before we get to the warm states so have to prepare for that. Has anyone converted a cargo trailer with that kind of living in mind? Specifically, have you enclosed the chassis, build up the trailer floor and insulated the holding tanks to avoid them freezing?

I would eventually like to build a trailer similar in performance to the Oliver TT.

You may want to look at Lance travel trailers. I believe they take a similar approach to Oliver in that the heated furnace supply air is routed through a plenum that wraps around holding tanks and plumbing. If where you are campion is not too cold and you have shore power, then you may consider using electric resistance heating maps for your grey and black water tanks and heat tape for your plumbing supply lines. Since you're building it yourself, I would keep all of the supply lines above the floor in conditioned space.

Quite a few fulltime Rvers use these, they can be had in both 12vdc and 120vac

Tom, as for 4-Season camping, a lot of RVers use them to heat the tanks and
various sections of plumbing to prevent them from freezing. As to how they
apply, I'm thinking ... with some sort of adhesive ???
