One more window question

So I am sitting here thinking abut windows (realizing just how little I know on this subjet) We have 16 inch centers and wondering this, "If the center of the window that slides open is on the stud can I go with a window wider than 16 inches? Really want at least 1 of the windows (there will be 1 on each side) to be large enough to be an escape window. Is that possible with 16 inch centers?

Yes it can and is done. Think of the way house windows are framed and visualize the same concept with your CT uprights. You have to cut them and build a header and frame just like at home.

There are many photos in the forum of how others have done this. I put "windows" in the search box and picked up 110 pages of posts. I tried going through a few to find you an example, but figured time would be better spent with you giving it a try.

tandempair, Howdy;

Look at the very top post in this forum. It's a compilation of everything (almost),
under the Sun about installing a window.
Happy reading.

Tandempair, here is a link to my build with some good pictures of framing in a window on 16" center "studs".
