The new quick & easy answers to trailer builds

I was just thinking, since there are so many new members here who don't seam to have time or patience to Google and read other members build treads.

Why not just have the forum charge $1 for all posting these quick questions & quick answer for the folks who just don't have time or patience to read or search a little.

50 cents would go to administer & support the forum, the balance of 50 cents would go to those "smarties" who know and give the fastest & best answer.
Let's say 5 folks answer the questions, other members could then click and rate the best answer. Each click is worth let's say one point or 1 penny. The guy or gal with the most clicks on their answer is the smartest cookie in the jar.

The guy who is in a life of death hurry gets a good and fast answer. The administration collects some pennies to keep the forum in the green.....

It's like a WIN WIN WIN WIN for everybody...

It shouldn't be to hard for admin to make a system around this idea or some improved version of it....

Cheers OTTCT

I would support that

I would support your idea. I have used the search function and the results at best are mind boggling... :? For example I searched "mini split inverter air conditioner" and only got two returns, Yours and mine.
There has to be more info on mini split ac's on this forum?

Some times I remember seeing something on the board... and do you think I can find it again?

There are areas that I am knowledgeable in and then there are others that I am not. I would pay to have a knowledgeable answer to a question asked. A person could be in a build situation where they ran into a situation that they need an answer to quickly. It could be holding up the whole project, and search just got you that much more confused.

I know it gets frustrating seeing the same questions asked over and over, but we all went through that phase and isn't that the reason for this board to help our brethren ?

So, ME, I would pay and as you can see I am a contributing member, for the knowledge contained with in this board.

Gary

I'll start it off by charging $1 you for not knowing the difference between "seam" and "seem". I can't charge you for not using spell check because "seam" is a legitimate word if you are sewing or joining 2 items together....I'll let you slide on that one.

Please send $1 to our administrators so the can forward me my .50 cents :D ......Redneck Teepee.

But OTTCT, then we'd be considered PROFESSIONALS and we'd be giving our professional opinions and advice instead of personal opinions and advice we've learned (the hard way sometimes). Then as professionals we'd have to pay taxes on each click, carry liability insurance to cover our a** so that when someone sued us we could afford to continue giving our advice.

Seriously though, "most" search functions on forums SUCK, mainly due to the limited search engine capabilities that forums as a whole use. I learned along time ago that Google is your friend, well most of the time. If you want a decent way to search a forum try this: go to google or your favorite search engine, doesn't matter which one it is. In the search bar/window type in "search term"site:tnttt.com
Replace the words "search term" with what you want to find, leaving the "" . Google will use your search term and look only at this forum for the answers. If you want to change forums in your search, replace the "tnttt" with whatever forum you'd like to look at.

using mini split as my search term brought back 165 results in less than .44 seconds
Remember less is more when it comes to search engines and quotation marks are your friend

Plus there's always some jack wagon that wants to discourage people from using the forum....

...Short answer:
Charging would open us all up to liability issues and a lot of people simply wouldn't pay for information that they could get elsewhere.
