springs vs torsion

On my Neo, I have the option of spring suspension or for about $180 can upgrade to torsion

What's your thoughts on a 6x12 trailer. Won't be overloading it, in fact I think the trailer weighs around a 1000lbs and I can't forsee me putting more than a 1000 lbs into the interior. once in a blue moon maybe put a quad in to take to the local off road.

I know it's a egg before the chicken debate..Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Again, more of the what's best for your usage kind of thing.

For my trailer I chose to go with the springs, reason, I intend to do a lot of time on Forest Service roads.
So, if I need to 'flip' the axle for greater ground clearance (haven't so far), I can without it being a major
job. But ... that's what I choose to do, your situation may be different. Remember, we are making these to
fit our own needs and wants. So, it's good to see you asking questions, there are plenty of ideas to pick from
and ways to do things. Most important thing is to enjoy the journey.

My 2003 Pace American 5x10 with torsion rode fine with my home reno tools in it. I purchased it new. I wanted torsion because of the single axle - I thought springs might bounce a little more than torsion.

My 2014 NEO 7x16 tandem with springs rides fine. I purchased it new.

I have not been disappointed with the NEO ride - trailer weighs about 4000 lbs, well under 7000 rating. Dual axles "step" over bumps, etc nicely.

I think it's really what you want and what you are going to use trailer for. Springs are easier to fix/replace which has been mentioned in other places on this forum.
