Flooring is in

Yay! I got the flooring in today. A pretty tight fit from side to side. A bit of a gap in the front, but I think 2 metal strips for flooring should take care of that, since that area is storage anyway. I hope silicone will suffice for the gap in back. Thinking I wo need to glue the flooring down. Once the compact kitchen unit is in, that floor isn't going anywhere and a silicone seal all around should keep water out. Hope pics post. I had some problems getting them uploaded. [album][/album]

That does look good. Nice job on the template, that's a proven method. I had an Avanti similar to that in an efficiency apt. back in the '70s. Man, those were simpler times. I wanna go back...

I don't think that should be an issue. It is rubberized flooring, which is why I wanted a tight fit. I will silicone around the edges to keep water out.

Even with the template, I am about a 1/2 inch short in the front of the V. Part of the template came untapped when we were moving it. I am still debating on how to deal with the gap. t might not be a huge issue, since that area will be storage anyway. If I do a bead of clear silicone along the bottom of whatever cupboard or cabinets we put there, it should keep any water out.

The flooring looks great. I used the same in my CTC and I am liking it.

I think it will work out good. Not the most comfortable to walk on with bare feet or stoking feet, but I plan to put a runner rug in there when we are campin,so that should work out good.

If it's covered I would just seal it with caulk or paint.... if exposed, some nice trim maybe? If it isn't locked down already you could split the difference front to back.
Love that kitchen unit, where did you find it?

Thanks. Got the kitchen unit online. Found a good 4th of Juky sale with free shipping, it was still pricey, but probably not that much more than if we would have done each component seperate. We liked how compact it was. They used to make this unit in a plug in model, but now it has to be hard wired in.
