Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I am thinking of doing a conversion on a 7x14 cargo chassis. Something like a super-sized stand-up teardrop replacement. Big comfy bed, potty, outdoor kitchen.

I rarely see people putting in large windows. Is there a reason for this? I am thinking of a couple 30Hx40W windows with one or two smaller ones. If the trailer is framed properly, does anyone see a problem?

No problem. I am installing 40x20 windows across the trailer frame. It's more effort but worth it. I framed mine by welding in tubular steel so I maintain structural integrity. I only have one done but the amount of natural light and ventilation already is awesome.

I think price is a big reason. RV Windows are expensive

Yeah just price (I paid $150 for a 14"x24" that will fit in between my ribs and am still pretty certain I got robbed), and for myself, inexperience with messing with metal structures that need to not fall apart on the highway. Also, remember, RV windows are basically conductors of heat, so the more window area you have, the bigger an issue you have with needing to heat or cool the space, needing thermal curtains, etc.

If you can overcome those issues you are good to go.

I think the reason is price too.

Expensive at the time (2014), but I don't regret the purchase at all. Our CT is light and airy, just like the travel trailer it is. My wife and I have been full-timing in "Ali" (as in Tin Can Alley) since Feb, 2016.
