My tank looks very similar to Chief's. I used angle to mount but same concept.
It hangs just low enough for the valve to clear the frame, about 4-4.5". Haven't had any clearance issues.

My tank was advertised as 21 gallon 36x21x7.5". It actually measures 6" at the shallow end but only 7" at the outlet end (which helps with ground clearance). The lips were right at 2x3".

Test drove with my bike loaded to cat scale, tongue weight was good so far, the Harbor Freight wheel chock works great, i bolted to floor with 1" hex standoffs, reinforced with .25" aluminum plate under the flooring.

Trailer pulled just fine, but i can definitely feel the loss of power in my truck; with the bike loaded I'm right around 3600# and about 3200# when hitched. Still need to add a battery and propane tank. Averaged 11.5 mpg round trip in my Chevy ZR2 truck, which is rated for 5000# max towing. i think a V8 is in my future at some point though!!

It’s pretty hard to be disappointed with the new v8 trucks these days. Multiple brands now carry the higher then six speed transmissions that seem to be really good on the reviews I have read.

Does the pickup sag a whole bunch also,?

Did you take a photo of them all hooked up?

I am running a F150 with 5.0L and 6 speed. My 7*18 is about 6,000lb fully loaded with cruiser and 64 gallons of water. The truck has plenty of power, but I cannot get over 9 mpg towing. Also need to lock out 6th gear and 5th if in hilly area. Runs 2,800 rpm in 4th gear going 65 mph. No downshifting or etc. with small changes in elevation like overpasses and etc. to maintain speed with cruise control .

I did have more sagging than I liked, but a set of airbags and weight distribution hitch allow me to level it off nicely and it rides great with no bouncing or etc..

Bottom line, any 1/2 ton with a V8 or a Turbo Charged V6 like the Eco Boost in the F150 should be more than adequate for 4000lb. I think alot of them are rated much higher. I have the tow package on my F150 and with the gearing in rear differential and transmission, I am supposedly capable for 9,400 lb. tow, but I really think that is overstated. But anything 7,000lb or less, I would not hesitate to hook up and go anywhere on improved roads.

I am the opposite,my ct is the littlest trailer I pull unless you count the three rail moto trailer everything else is 12k or more. Diesel is the best option in my case. Hitched 80% of the time. Never a shortage of HP.

I mean a photo of it all loaded after the new added weight. A little sag never hurt anyone

I used the same for my CTC bathroom also. It actually works very well and looks good.

Well that didn’t take long! Found a great deal on a ‘20 Sierra V8 so I jumped on it! Both
trailer and truck sit nice and level when hitched.
