5x8 V-nose sleeper help/ideas please!

I’m in the process of buying a 5x8 cargo trailer. The walls are plywood not chip board. I’m going to stain/varnish them. I’m going to lay a 5x8 carpet over the floor. I’m getting a futon (sofa 73x34/bed 73x43). I’m getting a “buffet” with sliding doors to go in front of it. 40x13x24”tall. I’m thinking of enclosing a porta potty between the door and the bed. I’m also looking at getting a portable fridge/freezer...the ones that look like coolers. I will be adding a dual hose portable AC in the front V nose vented through the floor. I’ll be building cabinets and shelves around the AC.

It has a single barn door. I’m looking for ideas how to lock it from inside.
I’m also looking for any other recommendations!

Before you pull the trigger. Draw out your plan on your garage floor to get an actual idea of how things will fit to the inside width of the trailer.
I was gonna build a 5x10 but went with a 6x10.

Looks like a great floorplan though.

Its better to have them install the RV latch and looks professional.

Would the RV latch go inside or would it replace the latch on the outside of the door? They come preinstalled with the handle in this picture.

I have layed out the futon and cabinets to make sure they will fit properly.

i would recommend having the manufacturer to install and rv latch. my cargo door trim was glued on, to risky damaging it taking the door apart to install latch and to insulate
the lacey white curtain is actually mosqito netting rolled up on a dowel, just pull it down and hold the bottom corners in place with magnets

I love it!! That looks great! How do you keep your door secure from the interior.

Hoser eh? You’re Canadian aren’t ya? I am too. I used to live in Thornhill Ontario north of Toronto. I live in Arkansas USA now. My wife and I enjoyed camping up there. We went to Killbear, Algonquin, Sauble Falls and Knight’s Beach Resort on Lake Erie.

[/quote]Heyyyy that’s awesome! We loved it down your way! I’m just sick of using a popup or a tent. It’s a great tent though. 10x16 Kodiak canvas. I just wanted something when I’m on a road trip I could pull off and sleep in. Down here in the south AC is a must have. I’ll use a quiet generator when I can’t plug in. Stay safe through all this craziness. Thank you for your input. It’s very much appreciated!

That’s a great idea! I never thought of that! I’m going to put one of those magnetic screen doors on the door too so if I want it open I can keep it open and keep bugs out.

Awesome!! I was thinking electric heat or possibly a small wood stove. How many propane bottles does it take to keep warm at night? Is there any insulation in your walls or roof? Mine has the wood and the tin and that’s all. I will be insulating the roof. I was told that if I’m not camping in below zero I wouldn’t need insulation in the walls.
