Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hey folks, purchased some RV windows (30x15) for my CCT. The windows came with no instructions or hardware. The trim rings have holes predrilled (six horizontally top and bottom and two vertically each side, brand is ToughGrade, purchased on Amazon.
Looks like there is a groove around perimeter of window frame to receive the screws once installed in sidewalls. Do these need to be pre-drilled or will the screws just bite into the groove? Also what size screws recommended? The windows are 1.5" finished depth which should work well since my interior walls are 3/8" plywood and frame members are 1"x1.5" aluminum with 1" foam insulation boards in between.

Read through the post at the very top of this forum, should be some good info in there for ya.
The photos themselves should be a great resource. Also, don't forget, those 3/32 by 1.25 slots
are for drainage and need to be at the bottom. Butyl tape is the best sealant for the installs.
Keep the tape in the freezer until ready to use especially when it's a warm day.

yea i read thru that thread, good info, just wasn't sure about screw size or if pre-drilling is neccessary. I'm using a jig saw to cut the skin, plywood and insulation all in one shot, plus one stud in middle of each window to fit the 30" size.

I bought and installed the verticle version of your window. My trailer had the ribs 16 inches on center thus the 15 inch fit snug between the ribs. I cut the hole from the outside. Then I put up the plywood and cut the inside My wife held the window in place on the outside. I put the trim ring on and used the self tapping screws that came with the window to screw the 2 pieces together. My window came with a neopreme gasket already installed on the window side. No need for any sealant.

this guy used # 8 screws ... length depends on wall thickness.

All finished with install, used 1/2" #8 screws and butyl tape to seal.

when installing the frameless window, if the window is hefty, I recommend having two people slot it into the hole while you support it from the inside. Ensure the trim’s correct alignment before fastening the corner screws. I suggest starting with all four corner screws to secure the frameless window. You can tighten the rest afterward. Tell your assistant(s) never to let go of the frameless window until you fasten all screws. Finish the installation by caulking the exterior perimeter. The seal should add another layer of protection against the elements.
