I drove all the way to Texas and back to pick up my drawers and doors. For what I paid and the time it took I should have built them myself…

Does anybody have a nice method for holding battery in place? I have a 100 ah lifepo4 battery and it’s sitting on top of the ply wood box I built to cover my water heater. Somehow it needs to be kept in place…I guess some eye bolts and then a battery hold down kit from Amazon with the j bolts would work.

I use this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07665L6YV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I cut the ears off and screw it to the floor and bulkhead.

Installed drawers today and built covers for water heater and propane tank. We have a camping trip next Friday night so kinda have a deadline to make it usable. It basically is I guess…

Plan to go weigh my trailer tomorrow…. I cleaned it out some today and added some hooks in storage area for spare tire, water hose and electrical cord. I also installed my inside fire extinguisher. I think the upper cabinet door paint is going to wait til after this first trip.

The weight on my jack was 740 lbs and weight on axles was 4,620 lbs for a total of 5,360. This is with gray tank empty and just a bit of water in fresh water tank. We also don’t have everything in trailer for camping… looks like I should use the rear most storage as much as possible. I’m pretty happy with the total weight as I should be able to keep it around 7,000 lbs or less loaded.

This is the first time I’ve pulled on road since doing all this work. My solar panels show around 90v. Is this correct? How do I read how much they are actually putting out?

Sounds about right as far as the tongue weight goes. Yea, a tad bit more to the rear to
keep the ratio to about 10-15 % of total weight of the trailer. Remember, over the axil
is zero net gain or loss but still counts toward gross weight.
Sounds like you're doin' just fine.

Excited about our upcoming camping trip. One of the biggest things that gives me pause is wondering about the composting toilet…

Here is what I currently have for storage in the back. I have around 18” of depth here. It seems there is a lot of wasted space. Does anybody have an idea what I could build here for better use of space? I’d like to be able to put more camp chairs in here etc.

And yes. My wiring needs to be cleaned up a bit.

I’m thinking about buying some of that wire shelving from lowes. It comes in 16” depth and I’ll put one pretty high and maybe one a bit lower. That’ll get that tent up out of the way and can stack camp chairs etc on there and use a bungee to secure them maybe

Well... I'd put brackets on the tongue for the spare and the propane bottle. I'd encase the electrical stuff and hang the cords above that cabinet on one hook... and then build in a bunch of appropriately sized drawers with locking latches. Maybe a "closet" area with a door for your gun case and chairs...

My tongue has the out door unit for my mini split on it already… I could put spare in front compartment under bed but that adds tongue weight. May do that anyway. Propane hooks up to water heater on opposite side of trailer so I’ll probably leave it in the back. That’s all I have that runs on propane.

The cubbies is a good idea. I guess a guy needs to go on a few trips to see what exactly he needs to take with him so he can design a system.

Thanks for the feedback!
