Cannot delete the repeated post, so I edited to remove the text. I posted and somehow it repeated several times.

Hi. I think some pipe insulation would not hurt, but not really not necessary. The pipe gets hot, but I don't think it is getting anything near it too hot. I thought about getting some header pipe wrap at the Auto parts store but will wait to see how it goes with some usage.

On the batteries, I have had issues with one cell I discuss earlier in the thread. Look back a few pages. I'd do it again in any case. I don't think there is any safety problem. The BMS alerted me to the issue and properly managed the battery with the weak cell.

Also, the screws are screwed into the just 40 mil. skin. Going to watch it. If it loosens up, I will have to put screws all the way through the wall with nuts on under the front cabinet since none of the mounting holes line up with a stud.

I decided just to go ahead and drill all the way through the wall and add nuts and washers inside. I was just not sure the others would hold, now I can stop worrying about that. Easier to do here and now than 9n the road somewhere.

Richard, thanks. This is our second go around with COVID-19. Just going to be a way of life going forward I'm afraid.

In any case, I hope you are feeling better soon also.

I made a video of the Chinese Diesel Heater Installation. This is how I did mine:

If I get the other side on okay without ruining it, I will leave them on. Hard to get these on, but I think it looks good. Literally, $6.74 off of AliExpress.

Okay.. got both sides done. Fairly decent job installing, so I'll leave them on for now.

I added a 60 watt heating pad to the gray water tank in case I get into some sustained freezing situations where between this pad and some antifreeze, hoping to keep the gray water liquid. I really cannot insulate it well or encapsulate it , so other than just leaving it to drain each use, this is the best I can come up with. In off-road boon docking situations, I will leave it to drain since it is just primarily shower water with some light sink usage.

Blackwater is not an issue and one of several reasons I went with the Porta potti in this build.

Still just need to hook up the wires. It supposedly is thermistor controlled to come on and go off, but I am going to run power through a switch in case I have to make power consumption choices.. or just have the drain open and don't need it running.

Thanks.. trying to redeem the time somehow while I am still on COVID-19 isolation. I am doing well, but have a few more days before I am considered not contagious.

Most likely will now leave for RTR on Monday.

I had the bungee cord from another project, so I decided to put some retaining cords on my shelves where I store my clean clothing.

I hope you recover fully and get to make the trip out west. If for some reason you don’t end up going to RTR, a few of us are going to ride some single track in the hills at Highland Park next weekend.

Any suggestions on a trailer dealer to use for getting a quote on a gooseneck cargo trailer? I have only received a quote from one salesman so far and the price he quoted is about 60% higher than it should be. It almost seems like they quoted an outrageous price because they don’t want to build a custom gooseneck.[/quote]

Did you check with Kaufman Trailer in NC ? That,s where we ordered our Cargo trailer. Very good prices.
