I put the step on which required me to weld in a cross member between to joists. No other way to line it up to bolt on this time. The welder is coming in handy!

Also put on a swing out handle going in the front door.

Onehoser, Thanks.

I did not weigh it and it is too late for that now that it is installed; however, the description on Amazon says it weighs 25.3 lbs... which seems about right.

Wow! Overhead welding! That's not the easiest. Looking good, you are smashing this build. I guess retirement can be a good thing!!

flboy, Howdy;

Thanks for the insulation answer, pretty much what I thought, but good for someone that
hasn't got that far yet.

Like that step. Have you got a spare bungy, can be used to keep it from deploying on it's own
while going down the road. chuckle. Had it happen when I first started RV'ing long ago.

Thanks Hank... yes I will secure it on the road.. like my awning! Lol

Cut the first big hole today for the gravity feed and city water inlet.

I have extra black paint, so I am painting the plywood backing to protect it from moisture some.

I will have the water tank centered over the axle to make it as load neutral as possible.

Blends in well with exterior.

I have the same step. Half the time I forget to even put it up. If you notice it doesn't hang down much farther than the bracket it folds in to. And it doesn't stick out past the wheel so not really much of a threat.

Really no issue if it did deploy as you said, but may as well make sure.

Well, going to call it a day. Got a bit done in addition to taping off floor plan. After the water inlet, I got the power inlet, quick connect hose, rear door floodlights, and the front door light mounted. More planned for tomorrow.
.

Image

Quick connect for water hose to clean of dog, bike, etc.. Skipped the outside shower. With having one indoors, I never used the one on the 7*18 Vnose. Only used it for a hose a few times.

Image

110VAC 15A up front so it is easy to hook up Gen in back of truck or on tongue.

Image

Rear floodlights will work with a switch, but also will automatically come on when the truck goes into reverse assuming the trailer is connected. They are great backup lights at night. Porch light is handy at night.

Thanks! Yes, I have more time, a few more tools, and I'm improving upon the last build.

I was actually welding laying on my back. I was afraid of some hot splatter hitting my neck and etc.. I am sure it looked funny, but I had a towel wrapped around my neck along with the overalls I put on for welding.

Well, decided not to buy an electric jack. The bulky electric motor housing on top would interfere with my tailgate going down all the way while hitched, and since the stabilizing jacks already use a 3/4 in. or 19 mm socket to hand crank it or use the drill with socket, I drilled out the center of a 3/4 in. nut to fit the shaft and then just welded it on the shaft. Now I can crank it with the drill or the stabilizing jack's hand crank that came with. This trailer is light enough, it does not load the drill at all. Have to put it on slow speed as it is too quick on high speed!

The other thing this will facilitate it the tongue toolbox I plan to build. The hand crank would swing into it. The drill or long shaft on the hand crank that came with the stabilizing jacks will miss the toolbox as I have it planned.

Well, I started putting the awning on today and got as far as the getting both Arms on and the fabric lock rail. Assuming I measured well, I should be able to finish tomorrow in an hour our so and move on. I have to cut another hole in the side tomorrow when my air conditioner intake vent arrives. I wanted to cut the windows out and put plywood back up today and then realized that I wanted to use bolts on the awning instead of self tapping screws and also remembered the air intake. In any case, I got stainless bolts with nylon locking nuts through the top frame holding the awning on this time.

Bolts that came through. I guess that is the time to do it. Before the ceiling goes in.

It looks like you're flying through this build once you got the trailer. I guess I have to build at least three of these to get to that level.
