Awning is on! My vent did not come today, so hopefully tomorrow. This will be the last hole and screws needed on the exterior sides then I will cut out windows and reinstall paneling. So I wait.

I think I will paint the bottom 24 inches of the awning posts and bottom bracket black to blend with rock panels. I think that would look neat. A quick project!

How does that black diamond plate hold up to rock chips?

I have no idea yet.. but if it gets too chipped up, a few cans of black spray paint and all is well.

Killing it as usual!!!

Looks good

Only one comment on the tire locks. We use a thick braided cable through the wheel and leaf springs and frame just a simple loop and a good quality lock.

All locking devices are defeated in a seconds with a cut off wheel and battery grinder. Lots of stuff cleaned out in no time, The good thing with your thick insulated walls is they can’t very easily be hacked through. Seen that a time or too for tool trailers. Cut a hole in the side and climb in lol

Thanks! Yes... so true on the cutoff tools these days. Just hoping to make my trailer more of a PIA than others. I will be putting a tracking device on it in any case. They are cheap enough and so easy to use. There won't be too many cases where I leave it somewhere unhitched..... but it could happen.

The Air Conditioner intake vent arrived late yesterday. This was my morning project. I can open it either way ( towards front or rear). I think it will be big enough to do the job for a 5000BTU window unit. If I feel I need more air, I will put another small vent in bottom of closet which will be airtight from cabin.

Once I have the walls back up and ready to start interior. The AC closet and hookup will be the first job done. Will be working in AC then!

And just like that, we have a window. Got the bottom in the same plane as the bottom of the window in the door.

I have it temporarily held until I can put the inside plywood back up tomorrow and then trace window cutout from the outside. Much easier to get it right that way, but the fit is snug like I wanted.

Then I have to put dicor tape up, screw it down with trim ring and then caulk with silicone sealer well..Ditto for the other side.

This is always the part of the build I get the most anxious/nervous about. These big holes are hard to recover from if you mess it up badly. In any case, outside is almost done except the on demand water heater vent and shower vent I need to install on the roof up front.

Did you use the Rotozip from the inside? What ever you did, it looks good. I still have one window to cut out. If it ever warms up around here, maybe I'll get around to it this year!

No, I used a jigsaw with a metal blade. I am not too good with the rotozip. I am afraid of it tracking off.

Thanks for the encouragement Hank. Got the other side done after lunch today. Starting to look like more than a Cargo Trailer Camper now.

Will double check measurements tomorrow before I cut the area out, but this is where my 5000 BTU window AC will butt up to and seal against the rear door for condenser exhaust. Intake is on the left side. I will be building a shroud out of polyiso foam board to direct the air and installing a louvered grill to cover opening on rear door.

I would have liked to have the AC exhaust more towards the top of the door, but the door hinge is dictating placement of the grill. On the inside wall above the AC facing inside the cabin, I will put all of the solar and power monitors and the stereo. I think this will work out just fine.
