Thanks BigDave. Yes, drains plumbed with flexline..it works well especially for routing. Drains are under no pressure so it is fine. I adapt it to the PVC with hose clamps as needed to drop into the holding tanks.

2 days and I leave for the Maiden Voyage. Just got a few last minute items done. I installed the Cellphone Booster, the WiFi Booster , and my VHF/UHF radio. It all seems to be working. It did involve drilling another hole in the roof for a coaxial cable pass through.

Not must have for the trip, just nice to have. I like being connected in terms of internet anyhow.

Do these antennas and solar panels make this look like some sort of Govt. Surveillance trailer? Lol. Probably will when I am Boondocking and deploy the portable HF Chameleon II antenna that was developed for the Army. Maybe keep the rif-raf away?

Hot and humid here. AC is just streaming water. Drain seems to be working well.

Here's a pic of the trailer all packed up for the trip: it's tight, but not bad for a 6x12. I have full access to kitchen and bathroom/shower and can sit on couch, deploy bed and etc.. tomorrow will be my first night on the road in it. Running it across the scales tomorrow AM also.

Don,
Looks great! Have fun on the trip. When you get back, please let us know your experience in pulling this trailer versus your 7’ wide.
Take care,
Tom

Thanks. Will do. Pulled over 300 miles today. Hardly know it is back there and gas mileage is about +2.5 to 3 mpg better. Some of that is due to less weight I am sure, but the bulk of it is the height and width difference.

Got the rig weighed today on the way out of town. The trailer is 3,280 on the scales, but my hitch weight scale shows about 400 lbs. So it is 3,680 with a 5,200 lb. Capacity. I am fully loaded with 21 gallons of water, a motorcycle, and all my stuff for 2 months on the road. Not bad.

Trailer seems well balanced with >10% on hitch and tows well with no sway when larger vehicles approach from behind and etc.

BtW. If had the standard axle at 3,500 lbs, I'd be overweight. Willing to bet most are when built out. I built as light as I could. Alot of cargo, however.

Thank you again, Don.

I'm still kicking around a project and this is good information to know. My 8' wide travel trailer is like towing a sail behind my F150. Gas mileage with the travel trailer is 8-9 mpg at 60 mph. Pulling my teardrop trailer, gas mileage was 15-16 at 70 mph. I've been sketching a design 6' wide by 6' tall box - about 8' tall overall height - that has both a lift roof and dual fold-out twin beds. To make this complicity worth it, I would need to see a substantial mileage increase (whether with the F150 or a different tow vehicle.)

Enjoy your journey!

Thanks. I am roughing it in a FlyingJ parking lot tonight somewhere in Kentucky off I24. Thank God for AC and Lithium Batteries. It is almost 7PM and still in the 90s.

Thanks. Nebraska then East to Massachusetts before I head home. I'll be on the road for 6 to 8 weeks. That's the plan right now anyway.
