First question is, do you plan on using the same wheels/rims? Dexter has a chart on their site
regarding the depth of the 'dish' of the rim used and compatibility with the hub.

As you are doing this with a single axel you should be able to go to regular tire sizes as you
won't be dealing with the torqueing that occurs with dual axels when doing tight turns.

Just some 'things' to contemplate.

Hi Hank. I plan on using the same wheels and just getting a proper trailer tire that will fit. I am thinking same width.. maybe slightly wider but need to be careful of rubbing and etc.. Could go larger diameter.. but not necessary. Bottom line, I just want all terrain tread to be less prone to punctures and with better sidewall performance and etc. off-road. It is not like they are drive wheels and need better traction and etc..

I took some of the pictures I snapped during the build and made a 6 minute slide show. It shows the transformation quickly. I had many more... so I grabbed the ones I thought were most relevant and put them in mostly sequential order.

An upgrade! I made some window rain diverters from some door drip edges. I am very pleased with the thickness of the aluminum and how easily they mount.

I painted them black to go with the trim.

I fixed the fuel pump problem on my Kingpin today and have it running well. Will hook up the truck to the CTC for stability and see if this beast will fit inside. I couldn't check that until it ran as it is way too heavy for me to push in by myself.. need to ride it up the ramp. I did make sure the handle bar width would be clear when I designed the appliance cabinet, but I will have to put this in forward as there is no way I could push it up backwards like I do with either the KTM-690R or KTM-450EXC. Concerned about handle bar engagement with side window if the bike shifts. Only one way to find out! More to come.

Okay, the Victory will squeeze in, but I am uncomfortable with how tight it is to get in. I could remove the batwing and the pointing tips on my grips and it would be easier, but the reality is that , if I am taking the Kingpin, I am not going offroad and my 7*18 Vnose toy hauler is perfect for Kingpin whereas this 6x12 is best for the dirt bike or dualsports for which my intention is to go off road.

So there it is, it fits, but I don't like it and would have designed Floorplan differently if my intention was to take a cruiser on-board.

I have a 12x7 v nose trailer. In the winter, I store my 2 motorcycles inside the trailer. They both fit side by side, but it is tight. Motorcycles are 650 v-star and a 950 v star. I have e track on the floor, use the 2x4 etrack brackets on the floor with 2 hf motorcycle chocks bolted through the 2x4. It is easy to remove when nexessary. I don't think that they would fit side by side in a 6 wide. But might if staggered.

Hooking up my 40 gallon auxiliary fresh water tank. This will allow me to boondock a lot longer..only have a 15 gallon tank in the CTC. I'll just transfer as needed with a 12vdc transfer pump.

I added the 12vdc wire from my 7 pin connector on the truck to the 20A DC to DC converter when I was in Nebraska in August. To activate the converter, it needs a separate 12vdc signal. The manual suggests connecting that to a run signal so it is only on when the truck is running, but I may not want to always run it when hooked up.

That being the case, I just put a switch inside the CTC where I can turn the 20A DC to DC converter on when I want to charge from my truck while driving. I have programmed it for the Lithium batteries and it seems to work fine. My shunt indicates I am charging at 20A when I connect to the truck and turn it on. The truck doesn't throw the 12vdc to the 7pin connector unless it is running, so this should work well with no surprise dead tow vehicle battery if I do not disconnect.

Also installed the relay that throws on the ramp/loading lights when the Tow Vehicle goes into reverse. Relay is in parallel with a manual switch I can throw inside the CTC also.

This will help tremendously when backing into a spot or etc. after dark.

Never really done. Just finishing up a few odds and ends on the build.

Received the Dexter Axle Over/under kit and the Sumo Springs today. Hopefully, I will have them installed tomorrow which will give me 4 more inches of ground clearance and some improved ride.

Well, have to leave it like this for tonight. My cheap welder doesn't have enough current to adequately weld the perches, so I am going to throw the axle in the back of my truck and take it over to my brother's shop where he has more professional tools. Will make sure it's welded right. That is very important on this job.

With the perches welded tomorrow, should only take me an hour or two to put it back together and realize the lift. .

I picked up the fittings for my auxiliary 40 gallon tank. I got a 3/8 NPT to 1/2 MIP so I can attach a garden hose. With that, I put on a brass valve and I can pump water out to my CTC and fill the auxiliary tank from the same hose. I just remove the top screw plug to vent as needed and then put it back on. I think this is going to do the trick.

In a pinch, I could take my portable battery pack, turn the pump around and fill from a stream or a hand pump well by pulling from a bucket.

In any case, this is not for drinking water, but for showers and etc...
