Super simple V-nose upper cabinets.

Postby Modstock » Sat May 22, 2021 4:38 pm

Here's a super simple upper cabinet for v-nose trailers for under $50.

I used 3/4" craft wood for this cause it was lightweight and strong.
At the time it was $15 Lowe's.

We are starting with the face.
Measurements are 16x72 .
Mine I cut down to 66.5" across.
I wanted it, to butt up against the v-nose walls.
This is why I kept the factory walls, so I would have something to screw into.
Cut out notches near the top to clear the trim and drew the holes for the doors to cut.

After some Urathane it's ready to mount .

With three #8, 2" screws each side the face mounts on easily.

Now here comes the rest of the cabinet.
First I Brad nailed & glued a 3/4"x1.5" support on the bottom of the back side. This will help sag and give the floor a mount.

Also nailed some to the walls at the same height.

Cut out floor from Luan.

Insert piece up from the bottom and staple down.

Also made a divider in the middle using same method. Helping strengthen the whole structure.

End result.

The doors were built with the same wood, just 1.5" bigger.
Used old school hinges from Lowes.

So far it's held up to the dirt roads I've been taking it down no problem.
