Howdy All;

We all use the same door latch set-up as the RV folks use and sometimes they won't
let ya in. Here's a thread from one of the RF forums that discusses the options to
get in;

https://www.keystoneforums.com/forums/s ... post515663

the company that manufactures them had a recall out a few years ago (5 or 6),for
some that would fail ;

Just thought ya'll might like to know ...

Thanks for sharing that.

I wasn't big on those to begin with and had already decided to go with a mechanical, no dead batteries, keypad knob. There's a few low profile keypad knobs out there, pad only and pad/key in dead bolt and push to close that look pretty good.

I installed Fastec/WESCO locksets on my TD when I built it in 2015/16. About one year after installation one of the doors (another good reason to have two doors) would not open from the inside, or I later found out, from the outside with a key.

I contacted WESCO and because my key/core ID number was not on their list of recall cores they would not replace the core without payment. I informed them that this lockset had the same defect of the listed cores on the recall. The guy on the line was very short with me and basically told me either give him a credit card number or I wouldn't get new cores. Having no other options I paid for new cores on both locksets. I asked if he was going to report the ID number to add the core to the recall and he said no. If I install new locksets in the future I will search for other options.
