Bonneville 2016

Went to Speed Week again this year. Here are a few pictures of the trip to the salt flats & some cars at the track, good time.

First night in Nevada Pahranagat Wildlife area, just south of Alamo, Nv.


At the salt, fairly gummy to begin the stay, but it dried out later. This was the spectating area we watched from.

What were the high temps out there???? Looks like it could be brutal.

Highs were in the mid 90's, but one day the high was only 88. It's nice to watch the cars from the shade of a canopy, but pretty hot on the salt walking around. Cheated this year & brought a mini-bike in the truck, which helped some for moving around. Sunscreen, hat, sun glasses, salted peanuts & lots of water are the best way to deal with it.

Had to run the generator in the evening to get the teardrop cooled down for sleeping, but it gets down into the low 60's fairly quickly. Lows in the morning were about 65, so not too bad for sleeping. All in all a great trip.
