WOW!! You ain't kiddin', man!! I've started many a canoe trip from near there. There was a campground at the confluence of the Flint Creek and the Illinois River where we started from and floated two days down to my realatives land.
Funny thing about this is that some of the movie, "Where the Red Fern Grows", was shot on my Aunt and Uncles land, also. None of the cast members had ever rode a horse or been in a wagon so in some of the scenes, my uncle was laying underneath the seat of the wagon (covered in canvas) with the reigns. He was actually guiding the horses and wagons. The actors had fake reigns going nowhere........
True story, it's shot near Tahlequah, OK.......... my birthplace. Anyway, I really enjoyed your pictures, Rick and Linda. Never knew that park was up there.............
