Alaska has "open carry" so it's not unusual to see folks in town with a 44 mag on their hip. Old west style.
PG13 beyond this point:
I did hear a story about a guy wanting to go Kodiak grizzly bear hunting. He announced his desire to hunt in a bar and got some interesting advice. An old trapper told him to work with the bear's natural curiosity and just motion the bear over with your arm. Find an open area with hills all the way around you. When you see a bear just motion him over. When he gets within range, shoot him.
The man takes the trapper's advice and does this.

By this time, the bear charges the hunter and begins to mawl him! While all this is going on the hunter feels something hit his leg

After a minute or two the man jumps up and runs for his life! Upon reaching the top of the hill, the hunter looks back to see if the bear is hot on his heals. Only to realize the bear is right where he left him, motioning for the hunter to return.
