Look-out towers anyone?

One of our hobbies is finding and driving to look-out towers in and around Oregon. This particular tower, Acker Rock, is one of the more spectacular towers we have been too. I believe its at 4000 ft. or so. You can rent it out for the weekend from the USFS for $40 a night! (they may have raised the price since we've been there)
Does anyone else on this forum enjoy look-out towers?

If you like lookout towers, you could also add tree houses to your hobby...

Never thought much about it but that looks pretty cool up there. Helluva view but that midnight rendezvous with the outhouse could be a little dangerous, particularly after a few nightcaps!!! 8)

Yeah. Nothing but flat desert for as far as you can see. The ground is pure gypsum and it gets into everything. Your hair, your teeth and other places. There is usually a gypsum/wind storm every day. Yet many, many thousands of people show up every year and the entrance fee is $250 a head. At the end, everything is set on fire. (except people and campers) Its quite a spectacle.
