I have been thinking of buying a TD and spending 2-3 months on the road to do a north american tour. I am a photographer, and plan on documenting my adventure.

Can anyone share any experiences they have had on long term trips?
any experiences good or bad in winter?
how does a TD handle on winter roads?

Al,

After taking cross country roadtrips in 2005 and in 2007 with our teardrop, I will say you would have a great adventure regardless of the weather. In extreme conditions, you will find that you need to adjust your plans as needed. Here are a couple links to our trip to whet your appetite and read and view photos about what we encountered.

2005 Roadtrip

We had a great time, met many interesting people, played tourist, visited lots of interesting places and viewed parts of the country I had never seen before. If I had my way, I would be on the road 8 months out of the year.

Good luck on your adventure,

Jack

Al-

I've towed my TD in a foot of snow, HUGE mud ponds with NO problem
In fact if you have rear wheel drive vehicle the tongue weight of the trailer actually HELPS traction :applause:

Cheers,

Coop

well i will be towing with a 92 black pathfinder 4x4, so i dont think snow for my truck will really be a problem.
i was concerned more with the TD hydroplaning than anything.
