Memorial Day/34th Wedding Anniv.

Postby Spotman » Tue May 26, 2009 3:22 pm

What a weekend to spend your 34th wedding anniversary :D

MaryBeth and I always go camping on Memorial Day, local- 5 miles down the road at the Holiday Trav-L Park. There are 1,000+ sites there, and that weekend they packed in enough people to cover 1500 sites, they use over flow spots like the picnic area and other spots they could find. You couldn't ask for better weather. 8)

We were fortunate enough to have Alan Geddes, (former) Army Tear Drop, which I purchased a few weeks ago. Thank you Alan, it was a joy to use and very comfortable too.

Our two kids showed up to join us for a meal and some company, what a relaxing weekend.

As you can see, being retired NAVY, I will be "modding" the camper just a little. You will see some small changes and many more flags and emblems for all the branches of the Military. I will be dedicating it to all Armed Forces. Here are just a few shots, more in my album. The awning was great, they are on sale this week at Dick's Sporting Goods for $199.00 down from $299.00. It was like having a garage, both attached awnings dropped down to several positions including full closure.

H/C, the tours were non stop, as expected. We also say a Little Guy (5x8) there for two of the days, briefly spoke to them, they just bought from a dealer in Fla., they were from North Carolina on the maiden voyage. Missed a photo op with them (no camera then). Nice people, gave them a card to check us out.
