Our number two son, Sawyer, was doing a re-model in our house so we set up camp outside. Olga cooked up some great meals out of the galley.

Gotta ask: Is that green, telephone booth-looking building used for your shower?

Funny you should mention that. That particular booth is part of my collection of telephone things. But, about 35 years ago, when we lived in O'brien Oregon, we used a similar green wooden booth as an out house!
I worked for the local telephone company and borrowed their pole digger truck, dug a round hole about 18" in diameter and about 12 ft deep, placed the booth on top of the hole, cut a hole in the bottom of the booth and mounted a flush toilet. It worked perfectly!

Ron since Kenny and I have been to your house, we are curious what remodel did you do?

Hi Eunice,

Sawyer completely rebuilt our kitchen. He did a fantastic job!

Great pictures - I agree the view looks better than some campgrounds I've been to!

We've had family "camp out's" in the backyard, especially when the kids were smaller, its been awhile ago now. I would set up the tent, use the outdoor fireplace thing we have for a fire/s'mores. Light the lanterns. Then sleep in the tent overnight. Great thing, is if nature called in the middle of the night, just go in the house!

Also, have been known to go to a "local" campground for a few days, even though it may be only a few miles from home, still seems like getting away...

Funny you should mention local campgrounds. My wife and I love to go to our local state campground. Hueston Woods. It is about 15 miles from our house but we both love it. We have visited many state campgrounds in the state of Ohio and have found this one to be one of the prettiest if not the prettiest in the state. It's funny how you can find beauty right in your back yard, you just have to look!!! 8)

I guess I'm partial because when I was a kid, I spent most of my summers in Hueston Woods camping, swimming, hiking ect.
