The Iconic image

I have been going through our trip pictures and have been searching for the Iconic image that kind of set the trip theme. There are over a thousand images and there are lots of images, these are a few of them. I have selected mostly pictures with Compass Rose.
This one to me is the Iconic image. Castle Rock was one of the intermediate goals for those headed west and visible for days (at Conestoga wagon speed)

The next two were Big Basin Redwoods state park

Above the tree line at about 10,000 feet

I did not know if our car would make the grade up to the camp ground. 212 HP (at sea level) in first gear peddle flat to the floor at 10,000 feet was a struggle. But you can see we made it. the hike down to the lodge however leaves you breathless

We posed in front of this fireplace on our honeymoon 40 years ago almost to the date.
