Lance (my pup) and I took off for a quick overnight at Saint Croix State Park here in Minnesota. It is I believe, the largest and oldest in Minnesota but we had it all to ourselves. Not sure who had more fun

Cooool! Literally. What was the low temp? What was on the dinner menu?

I'm jealous. Ready to camp.

I think we got into the low 20's, I was reheating leftover stuffed green peppers, I chopped up the pepper before I left home.
I learned that the door radiates cold really well and was glad I had a spare lap blanket to put between me and the door. Otherwise with my little space heater and 110 lb fur heater was really toasty.

Is all the sites plowed out in MN state parks? Sound like a good way to get out of the house after a long cold winter. Is there a seasonal discount?

Here is a quick link that shows which are open, and when you click on a name you learn about the park. On the left of the page is seasonal update that lets you know what is open for camping. I always call before Ieave to make sure they have a few spots plowed out.

Not all our parks are open in the winter and not all of those have open campsites. Saint Croix State Park even has a building open and with heat so I had a warm bathroom, luxury.
