Few weeks ago went went boon docking in the Wasatch Front south of Salt Lake about 70 miles from home on a forest road on top of Hobble Creek at about 8000'.
Got there Friday afternoon and set up camp. Since it was a little warm in the direct sun, I put up the canopy.

Had a great view of the sunset after dinner.

As the sun went down, the sky cleared up and I decided to leave the canopy up overnight with the legs staked down.
Big Mistake !!!
Around 3 AM the trailer shook twice really hard. Mind you my rig weights in at about a ton, so it takes a lot of force to move it. Just thinking of getting up to see what is going on, and I hear a loud crash. In an instant the canopy was relocated 50 or so feet. I went an took some of the canvas loose, so it would stay were it was overnight and went back to bed while saying a few choice words.

Beautiful clear sky in the morning.

The wreck. Notice the Fantastic Vent fan cover....

One of the canopy legs still staked in the ground.

Went for a drive exploring forest road in the area when we can across this meadow.

At the end of the trail was a creek that had been dammed up by a beaver.

This was trash left behind by previous campers.

Bend cover lift arm. I was able to force the cover back in place and close the vent enough to make it home.

Now here is were the great service comes into play.
So Sunday evening I took the picture and sent it to Scott at ADOHEN SUPPLY CO (http://www.rvvent.com) telling what happened and asking if he had a replacement part and if I could get it before we leave for a week long trip on Saturday. Within an hour he called me at home (mind you it is now 10 PM in Ohio) and we discussed what happened and that I would only need a new lift arm. Scott said that he now uses Paypal and I would have a payment notice within an hour. If I payed it right away, he would make sure it get on the part would be on the road Monday morning. He even send an e-mail with the delivery info without me asking. The part showed up Wednesday just as I was walking up the driveway. I changed clothes and had the bend arm replace in an hour.

Scott, your service is the best. :applause: :)
Thank you for your dedication to your costumers. :applause: :applause: :applause:

Yea it did turn out to be a good trip.
I don't know how, but other than the crank up lever, nothing got any real damage. The legs missed the roof of the trailer and the TV. Guess I just had some good luck. It could have been a whole lot worse.

I found out first hand....canopies and wind just don't mix well. Glad yours worked out fine and does sound like you got fantastic service...if only all companies would be that good.
