South Texas Trip April 23, 2015
Posted: Tue Jul 28, 2015 9:47 pmWanted to take the time to drop a quick note on our trip to S. Texas. I'll try to add more pics, think I saw where I can upload directly without adding to my gallery. Enjoyed traveling in the Great (big) State of Texas. Started out at Caddo Lake on the LA border. Beautiful area, enjoyed canoeing in the Cyprus swamp. Even got to see a fairly large alligator, matter of fact, saw more 'gators in TX than we did on our FL trip.
The water was high and there was some flooding, but nothing like what those poor people had yet to see.
Just down the road from the park......
I think I've been here several, several times before...... 
From Caddo Lake we went to High Island, Padre Island, S. Padre Island, Los Fresnos, San Benito, McAllen, and San Antonio before heading home. Did not see a live armadillo until we were half way across Arkansas on the return trip.
A Shout Out for the Hoosier Tear Jerkers Chapter: we drove over 3000 miles on this trip and did not see one TD or TTT until we pulled in at the Henryville rest stop on I-65 within 25 mi of home in Indiana........ just sayin'.......
