Cimarron Canyon State Park

Alice & I took a short trip to a new (new to us) state park here in northern New Mexico. It's a short drive for us, a bit over an hour away, and a nice area to see for the drive itself. It's been unusually wet this year in our part of the state, so there's plenty of wildlife on the drive & lots of green.

This is the wettest year up here in decades people are saying & it really is green. All of the small streams are running, lakes are mostly full & the fish are biting. Rainbows & Browns have been stocked in the small lake & streams have plenty of fish this year. Here are a couple of pictures of the campground. Reservations need to be made in advance this year as there's a lot of activity in all of our local campgrounds.

Beautiful area. Stayed at that park before a Philmont trek.

Glad to hear about the rain Tim! We have yet to go to Cimarron Canyon.
