Lodge question for you cast Iron gurus

I was looking at lodge skillets at Wal-Mart this evening, then came home a checked prices on the lodge site. I'm looking at the 12" and the 15 1/4" Skillet.
The 15 1/4 was $36 and some change at Wally World and $59.95 on the lodge site, the 12" was about $10 cheaper.
My question is, Does Wal-Mart sell not the best quality of lodge so they can get it and sell it cheaper?

Whats peoples thoughts on Wal-Mart cast Iron?

Dear professor "DEAN" About 12 hours ago we were visiting an elderly neighbor and Vic and I starter talking about the Camp oven (Dutch oven) we used in January and she tottered off into the kitchen and returned with a 8 1/2 inch by 4-5" deep chicken frier skillet and lid which she presented to us as a gift. I accepted it with glee. She said and I will quote " the God damn thing is to heavy to lift empty much less full of food" ( did I mention she is a rather colorful ex-minnisotian). The reason I bring this up is it was HER mothers and from whom her mother got it was in question but she seem to be sure it was a heirloom that has passed thru at least 2 generation in her family. It strikes me as unusual because the outside of lid and skillet sides have semi uniform peen marks on their surface about the size of a standard garden pea. I have not seen this type of casting finish on any other cast. The only marks on the bottom is an "89" cast in by the handle. Do you have any ideas what I have ?

Another place to buy cast iron, believe it or not, is the Cracker Barrel Restaurant chain. We have found some good (Lodge) bargains there . . .

Second the Amazon.com option. I bought some Lodge enamel pieces from there with the free shipping. Arrived within a few days over a weekend (shocked me how fast).

She had me looking it up on the internet 2 years ago she had forgotten all but a few words . It was her Dad's corney old saying. I don't know which side of the fence she is on but I am getting her on the phone in minutes. You really have my curiosity up. I am betting she is Norse she is a take no prisoners kinda gal. OOFDA land is like that. You explain OOFDA I can't . I was just exposed to it briefly in the Minneapolis airport at the gift shop.

However Her husband Dave ( long gone) was born in 1920 and this skillet was his mothers. No info on how much further back. His folks were Scotch and Norse His family name was McCay. Sounds more Scotch than Norse but the Norse could come from his mother's side. I thank you for the info and she was thrilled to find out a little about that "Damned old heavy skillet" too.

Gaurdian or Guardian, is this a typo?

I went looking for gaurdian and all that popped up was guardian. There were several old pieces but all aluminum.

Dean I found a twin to it on ebay no info though. This is a litter mate but mine is in better shape
