Chef Boy R Doug is in the house....

Postby rainjer » Mon May 04, 2009 12:58 am

I have to say, I don't thing have eaten better on a camping trip. We had so much different food every day.

Here is a picture of Doug whipping up a batch of gravy. The biscuits are cooking in the pizza oven at the same time.

Friday Doug cooked up this wonderful apple pie in the pizza oven.

I cooked up a couple pizzas in my 12" skillet using the Steve Tripp method.

There was a lot more great food.

I thought I'd read this whole section.

Could you (or Steve) explain this method? I'd love to get one of those pizza ovens, but I do have a skillet with a lid.

Great looking pie. The laced top is impressive.

Sorry, I missed devigeta's question. You use a large skillet & a DO lid instead of the DO itself. You put the skillet on a trivet so you can put coals under it. You have to use a few more coals than normal because the lid dies not seal tight.
