I found another use for the Pizza Oven By George. This was the last year of Spamboree Vintage Trailer Rally in Valley Center, CA and I needed to get into the Spam cooking contest at least one time. I have a jalapeno pepper roasting rack that would just fit into my pizza oven if I took out the pizza stone. I had to cut them a little shorter than normal but but there was still plenty of room to stuff them with cream cheese and Spam... it is Spamboree so Spam is required.
There were some fine looking dishes, at least 30 but only the judges and the early diners got to taste them.
I was guessing on the cooking temps but they came out okay even though some of the cheese had melted away. I added a fresh dollop to each pepper and then the piece de resistance.. sombrero's
They did not make the top three but for the first time in 10 years the judges added an Honorable Mention because they enjoyed eating them much.
Made my day. I did thank my friend who found the wee hats in AZ for me.
