The high/tall waffle irons on e-bay seem to going for higher prices every day.
I just happened to find the answer if you MUST have one. I cannot attest to the quality and suspect they are Chinese in origin but you can find a new tall waffle iron at:
waffle Iron They have plenty of them for $15.99 and about the same shipping.

There was a listing for the short version but they had only one, this is on e-bay express.

Anyone want to be the guinea pig and get the first one? ;)

I emailed them a couple weeks ago to ask what brand the are & they responded with "We currently do not have any in stock. Our distributor is out of stock." A that time the listing also said they had 98 in stock.

Maybe they get them in lots of 98.

I am surprised they can post them for sale over a long time and not have any in stock. I do not know the rules of e-bay express, they may be more lax. We will not know for sure until some steps up and orders one.
I'm covered or I would do it. :)

Nine months.... they might make the delivery by then. I hope your delivery is premature and the "kid" is good enough to keep.

I got my low waffle iron that's made in china (no markings though) today. Except for some rough grindings of excess casting it looks okay for $20. I took my DA sander and smoothed out the grindings. It has a very similar looking plus logo like the Griswold on both sides and TEXSPORT on only one side. I think they took an antique and made a copy, reverse engineering China style . The wood handles have a hangar bolt that threads into the metal handle stub & screw eyes to hang them to cool I'm guessing. I'm in the process of burning off the wax on the BBQ and then I'll season it. Tomorrow I'll try it out for breakfast. :D Danny

I see you have a new/old waffle iron now. What good luck
I bid and get out bid, I hold off and wait to the last second and still lose. I use friends names and can't win.
You make one bid and no one bids against you and it is located fairly close to CA so low shipping.
You must be living right. Good cooking... :D

I couldnt help myself since everyone is doing the waffle thing. I wondered if there were no other bids because they recognized the "keneunice" as the bidder. If so thanks. Hope I enjoy this because I really like Indian fry bread for breakfast, but the waffle I had at the Mendo gathering was very tasty. Kenny likes both so I will take turns making both.

My brother and I both have ci "made in china" and it works fine. Some people may not agree but I really cant tell the differnce in cooking with my Lodge skillet or my no name skillets. This waffle iron hopefully will be just fine.
