Seasoning Question

Last week when I was in Albuquerque NM I picked some fresh peppers.

I am in the process of seasoning another waffle iron.

Roasting peppers takes very high temps.

Will my waffles be hot tasting if I roast peppers while I am seasoning the waffle iron.  :o

It sounds funny but I need an answer... soon.

Ooppps, I guess it is already too late.

this was the first part of the seasoning, my hope is that any hots burn off in the next hour. 8)

The test will be with the waffles happen, maybe tomorrow. I will report in if I do them.

An adventuresome cook must be brave... you're going to eat THAT :QM :chicken: :sweaty: :DOH2:

Oh, I thought you were going to cook the hot peppers right in the D.O.

The way you are doing it I don't suspect there will be a problem.

Those aren't Bhut jolokia peppers, are they?

The Ghost peppers? No. These are standard NM milds. They can be warm but not bad at all. When I was there you could go to the market and they had sacks of peppers. big sacks, a few bushels in each one. Out front of the store they have a big rotary roaster. The bag of peppers were just over $10 and $2-5 for roasting. They smelled so good that I got a bag. When I got back to camp I was informed that they needed to be frozen or used in the first day. What :? :QM :QM :QM :EXP :EXP At that point I did not have my traile and its small freezer. It was being skinned and I felt like I had been. the campground owner had space and froze them for me but I could not keep them frozen across the NM-AZ-CA deserts. They are composting but it was not an expensive lesson and I picked up some fresh ones too. That is what I just roasted.

Ooops Iron is cooked, got turn off the fires.

In my kitchen pepper is a seasoning  8) :D

Now I have to figure out what to do with them... the peppers. My chili relleno recipe is too complicated.
