That is beautifooool but it is hard to tell the size in the photo. What will it handle, an opossum prime rib? :)

Looks like a 5in oven. Mainly because it had a tab for a handle instead of a regular one that you can hook. But I'm just guessing.

Gang,
Yes it's a custom cast iron lid for a Camp Chef 5"er.
George (cherokeegeorge) sent it to me.
I spoke with him about the logistics of doing a custom lid.
He PM'd me this week and said he needed my address, I assumed that he was going to send me some drawings or a sample mockup, but this is what showed up!
I can't talk with him right now as he is at the SLO Gathering.
I hope I'm not in trouble with him for sharing this, but I was just too damned excited!!!
If I am in trouble, I'm in trouble big time because his lid is here, JS site and the IDOS site.
I'm kinda worried that maybe I wasn't supposed to say anything... Like maybe I stole his thunder. :worship:
Man... I've been so jazzed all day that the thought didn't even occur until now.
Let's wait until George get's back from the gathering and shares what his plans are...

Good deal Dean!!!....while at the SLO gathering...the American Tear team had some discussions with George regarding his hitch covers and DO lids. As owner of hitch cover #001...we decided that any self respecting tear dropper should have one....and after swapping some jokes, razzing each other, especially about Georges "2 alarm cobbler" etc...George laid this one on me....Thanks George!!! I really appreciate it...it'll stay with me...after all, how often do you get your brand name cast in iron. Doug

You two guys have the best toys!

Those are treasures. In a hundred years, someone will buy it a garage sale and say, "What the hell? . . ."

Nothing like one of a kind art pieces. George does really nice work.

I was sure surprised to find this little jewel in my galley! It's the prize of my cast iron collection for certain. I can't say THANK YOU enough!

Besides being a true casting pro, George has really earned his DO stripes as well. His Pear/raspberry/streusel/pecan dessert was to die for!! Great job George!

Good thing it doesn't say Coon Dawg on it!! ;)
