Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I went to my local Walmart this morning and, of course, had to cruise through the camping depatment.

I noticed that they are now stocking Lodge DO's, skillets and "DO liners" as well as other accessories for the "cast iron cook".

Have any of our DO gurus used parchment liners in their DOs?

It is supposed to make clean up a lot easier. Although it's not that hard to begin with, what's your take on the liners?

Also new is a collection of (aluminum) pie irons ($9.95 for a square one)

I'm still on the look out for fly fishing poles and reels, but no luck yet at Walmart.

A lot of my CI has come from wallyworld unfortunitly.

Wal Mart sometimes will carry little SA( scientific angler) kits. I had one when I was younger and it did me well till I got a job with Orvis.

At the Mendo gathering people used the parchment. I bought some but havent tried it yet

I used it with the chocolate cake, makes for a much easier clean up

I may have used it in the DO I got at WalMart. This one was a return, in the bottom under the DO were a couple handmade birthday cards to Nana, two years earlier. No clue why this sat around for two years but I got a deal since in was no longer in their computer files. Glad that Nana decided she did not need any more camp gear.

Wally world has always had Lodge DOs, at least since I knew what a DO was (about 3 yrs). I haven't seen the liners though. One thing that I've noticed is that they drop the price in the Spring and Summer (in season) and raise it again in Fall and Winter.

Is the parchment liner for a DO similar to the bakers parchment paper you can buy by the roll or sheet to line cookie sheets and cake pans?

I use the roll of paper. I have never seen any shaped liners.

Out here, in the middle of Indiana we sometimes are the last stores to get things like that.

I'm not sure why they have done this all of a sudden. They did have lodge 9" skillets in the cooking deprtment but the DO's showed up in the camping area.

They also take away things I like. Blue Cheese stuffed olives for example. Bummer
