Those are the kind of shockers that you get on the Antique Road Show - PBS. It just leaves you saying, IT'S WORTH WHAT?! But there were 37 Bids on that skillet - and so it goes with collectables.

$4900 may have been a bargain on that toy Griswold skillet as it was a No.1 which is VERY rare. I saw two go on ebay a number of years ago for right around $6500 each. But that's cheap compared to a Favorite double loaf bread pan that holds the record price paid for a piece of iron cookware (at an auction in Missouri about 4 years ago)-$23,000 if you can believe it and that's the truth. Not worth it in my opinion (a friend sold his in just as nice condition for $1500 many years ago) and two subsequent ones sold for way less but still into 4 figures. Top Griswold price: $12,100 for a No.1 single loaf roll pan on ebay about 4 years ago. It's the only one known to date.
