currently when making pizza dutch oven style I use my 12" campchef upside down, there are some draw backs though, no handle on the top or ash ring, so I must use gloves to take the top off and sometimes ashes fall on the pizza.

So I've come up with a solution look what I've made..........It will also be great for cookies.............

I would gladly buy one as well. On a high school camping trip I made pizza in a regular Oven. It was Way too much work. This would be great

George,
Wow... That takes the pizza ring to a whole different level. :o
Is that a 14" Camp Chef lid on the bottom, or did you cast both pieces???
All I know, is I want one!!!
Please drop a note to my C.I.C. (Cast iron controler) and let her know why I need one of these.

George,

Way Cool! I want to buy one!

Could you put legs and a handle on both the top and bottom? Then it would be a 2-in-1 Dutch Oven that you could use either way.

There is no may need one. That is a positively gotta have one, no doubt about it sort of thing. You know, you guys and your fancy hobbies are really putting a dent in my mad money account. And now I know that no matter how hard I look I'll never find one since they are all custom made by a talented iron worker on a teardrop forum. Why do you torment me so!!! :x

Wow, thanks for all the positive responces. :D

Well, lets respond first to whats important...

Gary, it is bacon and mushroom. and it was delicious.

Mike, I don't have a furnace. By trade I'm a patternmaker so I made the tooling and then sent the patterns to a foundry to be cast. I wish I had a small foundry it would have been cheaper. Frankly they didn't want to make the 2 parts for me, I told them it had to be smooth, it couldn't rock and the handle is a bit tricky. as it turned out they did a great job.

Dean, I cast both top and bottom because I wanted them to match well. And buddy I'm not crossing the C.I.C. your on your own there. ;)

As for the price I'll have to talk to the foundry but I know they won't be cheap, unfortanetly small run and each one would be made one at a time and packed by hand. This is why Lodge, Camp-chef and even Maca buy from over seas. I know they will somewhere around $140 - $160 :(
