CI Panini Press

8) Another CI specialty....a panini press (for making those Italian style pressed/grilled sandwishes) will be an item I'm bringing to the Dam Gathering to donate for a raffle prize. Does anyone else have one??? :D

I curious do you have a picture? I know that you can use two skillets to grill a sandwich (thanks Alton Brown) but I haven't seen one formally assembled.

Cool beans, thank you Susan. For some reason I was thinking of something you put on a stove and not a super pie iron.

I used my new Panini press last weekend, it was a hit!

I took a slice of cracked wheat bread, buttered on one side, that side went down on the Panini press of course, then spread sun dried tomato hummus on it, then two slice of hard salami, two slices of Muenster cheese, a good covering of spinach leaves, put on the other slice of bread and then butter it before closing the Panini press.

Everybody gave up on the ham and cheeses after they tasted this !!
