Looking for recommendations and have a few of my own to share.

The Cast Iron Skillet Cookbook Kramis & Hearne http://www.amazon.com/Cast-Iron-Skillet ... 269&sr=1-1

I am making the banana bread as I write. I am a foodie and it is a great read.

The Leave No Crumbs Camping Cookbook Greenspan & Kahn
http://www.amazon.com/Leave-No-Crumbs-C ... 553&sr=1-1

Definately for foodies. Not typical camping/hiking fare. Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Seafood... They use a dehydrator to prep much of the stuff at home and whip it together at the camp site.

I'm even thinking of trying a solar dehydrator. Worth a try.

I'm cheap, so here's how I dehydrate. I cover my picnic table with silver coloured survival blanket, lay out the food to be dehydrated on top of it and cover the goodies with old framed window screens. Most stuff will dry up in about a day.
