That was Doug's idea, but I didn't have any to try, and that was all the hamburger I had.

But it did cook up pretty good. I wonder what the next waffle is going to taste like. I toweled out between the piramids and used a chop stick (real one, not icky disposable ) to get in the tighter places.

That's exactly what were talking about the other night! Little resevoirs of condiments....Keeps stuff from squirting out the side. I will accept blame for it...did it stick? Did you pre-flatten it so it just needed the final squish? Doug

I think this is the 2nd time I've been publicly held to blame for something...right on!!!

Didn't stick to much. just a little poke with the chopstick and it popped right off. ( what was that about guys with sticks poking things? ) I squished it a little bit more than I normaly do then let the waffle iron burn itself into it. :D

Next time throw the bacon in there as well. Everything tastes better with Bacon. Plus you get the iron seasoned as you cook!

How about something like a corn meal batter, ladle it around the outer edge of the iron, not real heavy, let it cook a bit so that you can open the iron without tearing it apart, pour in some scrambled egg in the center. Sorta like that egg in the bread thing, cover it with salsa, grated cheddar and a wad of sour cream....Sheesh....I gotta get a build going....too many voices in my head! And yes....somehow bacon needs to be included, now that the swine flue thing has died down, (Michael Jackson upstaged it) it's now safe to eat! Doug

One of my daughters does exactly that with one of those sandwich makers. No reason a waffle iron shouldn't work.
