I have just ordered the Lodge Sportsman Grill. It is pre-seasoned.

After it is cool, I will be storing it in a shed. I assume I need to clean and reseason the grates after use, but what about the body?

Yes the Grates and grill body are foundry seasoned on your SG as far as resesoning you shouldn't have to do that just clean it after each use as you would a dutch oven or a skillet. What i do with my Cast Iron after using it is to spray a thin coat of Pam until i'm ready to use again.

I have a cast iron hibachi, and after using i just wire brush the grill and then spray PAM on it. I put an upside down plate on it to keep it clean until the next use.

Thanks. Being single, I've never done much grilling. Seems like alot of work for just one steak or burger. But, I'm retired now and want to start treating myself.

Grilling is simple. I use a charcoal starter type chimney that starts the charcoal with nespapers. Once the coals are red hot, dump them into the grill, wait about 10 or 15 minutes for the top grill to heat up, and then throw on a steak, burgers, veggies and enjoy!

Hey .. If you can fit it on a grill.. it can be cooked !!
It's really all about learning to gauge " Temperature " control, using your particular grill !
