Dutch over outer surface temperature

I know the formula to reach certain temperature levels "inside" the DO, but has anyone ever seen a chart of the outer temperature for different levels of inner temp?
With all of the infra red thermometers available (I have one) it seems that it would be good to know what the outer temp is at a given inner temp.
The ambient temp would need to be factored in of course but I'm curious if anyone has ever recorded the outside temp when cooking at (say 350F).
Any ideas??
