Badges...we GOT our stinkin' badges! page 4

Postby doug hodder » Tue Jul 26, 2011 1:05 pm

In honor of the upcoming invention date 59 years ago of the Waffle Dog...The American Waffle Dog Association has created "patched in" badges.

As in any biker type gang thing, Hells Angels, Mongols etc...you are only a prospect until you receive your "colors". Your "colors" are your badge, upon receiving it, you are officially "patched" in and can "rule the roost" with Waffledoggin'. Attach it to an apron/hat/merkin, whatever and display it proudly. All us other patched in brothers/sisters, got your back!

Just owning a waffle dog iron doesn't earn you a patch. Only 1 patch per iron per owner. How you EARN it is you cook for a group out camping, photographic evidence required. No, your family and kids being the only ones don't count. This is intended to promote group cooking/ friendship with teardroppers and the art and creativity of Waffle Doggin'.

I'm expecting at least 6-8 to be patched in here in the next couple of weeks....photos will follow on that event.

They're still available...1 just saw one sell on e-bay the other day....Doug

Sorry Bob...yeah, it's me...but the badges are for real! I had them made by one of my customers. I really didn't expect anyone would think it's a "for real" thing. Just a fun thing to do around some outdated piece of cooking equipment that a number of us have, and yes, 6-8 are going to be patched in in Aug. Doug

Now, wait a minute. Did Doug say you can sow your patch on your merkin? I might have to rethink this waffle dog thing. 8)

Thought about you today George... There was a yard sale out by the shop.
The lady had a G.I. Joe Nurse Doll... It was female, dressed in all white. I thought about picking it up for you, but didn't know if you were into the female version of G.I. Joes. I didn't even know they made a female G.I. Joe, but after looking at the box, it looked legit. I offered her $5.00 for it, but she wanted $10.00.

Waffle dogger

Postby Alfred » Wed Jul 27, 2011 8:32 am

Hey gang,

OK, I am new to this particular experience - What is a waffle dog versus a regular waffle? What does a waffle dogger do that a regular waffle iron does not? is there a proper way to eat a waffle dog?

I want to study and learn the ways of the waffledogger. So that I, too - May be patched in!

Alfred....so how have you missed the whole waffle dog thing? Here's a U-tube video taken at last years campout that sort of explains. You can stuff them with whatever you want....regular hot dogs and corn meal batter makes a great corn dog, without all the grease. Gotta find the irons either on e-bay or out in the wild, they have been found both ways. Doug

The owning and collecting isn't so bad, it's when you start moving them and doing the voices that it becomes creepy. Doug
